Understanding the specific need of a child can be difficult at times. Especially when that need is related to anxiety, depression, or other struggles of coping with life changing events.
Children are constantly looking for new strategies to cope with what they feel, although they may not always know what that is. This could be stress in school, social interactions, within the family, and other areas. The results of not knowing how to cope effectively can lead to behavioral concerns, isolation, or depression.
Here at Soaring Families Counseling, we believe that a family that works together and learns together is a family that THRIVES together. If your child has demonstrated one of these symptoms or any other areas of concern, we can look at this together to teach your child how to communicate their concerns and provide them with the skills to cope.
I have been working with children for the past 10 years, specialized in working with children adjusting to or coping with chronic illness. This has been a passion of mine for quite some time, as I was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes at the age of 10. It took me some adjustment at a young age to adapt and learn skills to cope with the changes.
Now that I have had time to learn and hone additional skills, we can apply them with your child and rebuild the connections in your family.
